Marianne Y. Naerebout * - Born in 1958 in Rotterdam. Three months after her birth, she and her parents left for Curaçao to live there. The early years of her life were thus greatly influenced by the tropics. And everything that comes with it: sun, sea and beach, palm trees, cacti, steel bands, but above all color and more color. Color in the people and their clothes, color in their houses, color in nature and even color in the language and the music.
Naerebout studied at the St. Joost Academy of Fine Arts and at the Cyprus College of Art. She lived for ten years in Oman, Syria, Malaysia and Gabon. Since the end of 1993 she has been living in the Netherlands again. Naerebout is nationally and internationally known for her colorful art. She makes paintings in acrylic and oil, objects and screen prints, where the elements of earth, air, fire and water are important in creating her work. Many works of art are included in private collections and purchased by companies and institutions including Rabobank, Shell, Porceleyne Flesch Delft and Oxbow.
