Patty Harpenau* (Amsterdam, March 23, 1959) - Dutch writer of mainly spiritual books, also known as mother of Dotan. She initially gained fame as a painter. After high school in Amsterdam, Harpenau studied fashion and design at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, after which she completed her art and design training in Israel at the Betzalel Academy.
Returning to the Netherlands in 1986, she made her breakthrough as an artist with an exhibition at the Hilton hotel. From there she painted professionally and exhibited internationally until 1996. Her work was characterized by colorful expressionism. In 1996 she retired from the art world and obtained her license as a meditation teacher at the Chopra Center of Wellbeing in California. She has since been a meditation teacher, coach and founder of The Life Foundation, a center for well-being and spirituality.
Harpeneau is the author of several books on health, meditation and spirituality. Her book The Life Codes was published internationally. In 2006 she was on the list of candidates of the Liberal Democratic Party (LibDem) for the elections to the House of Representatives.
